Robert Cecil Peterson was born January 19, 1949 and danced his way into heaven on September 29, 2017. Robert was a graduate of Massey Hill High School and a Vietnam Veteran. He was a friend to everyone and to those that looked to him for advice, he was better than Google. He was never a bystander in life, and he lived every day as if it was his last. He enjoyed the beach, dancing, live music, and spending time with his friends and family. Robert never met a stranger and he loved people. He could talk to anyone and had something in common with everyone. Robert lived by the philosophy that actions speak louder than words; and daily his actions were those of humility, compassion, sacrifice, consideration, honor, and love. He loved Jesus, his family, his friends, and this country.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Joyce Peterson; his first wife and soulmate, Marilyn Peterson and their son, Robert O’Brien Peterson; and his second wife and his children’s second mother, Addie Peterson.
He is survived by his daughter, Amber Jackson and husband Christopher; grandchildren, Alex, Owen, Keegan, and Maddilyn; his brother James Peterson and wife Tonie Neal, stepdaughters Teresa Boggs (Steve), Sherry Ramsdell (Dennis), and Kelly Arrant; stepson, Matthew Johnson, and 7 other grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters in law, Rhonda Jenkins (Scott), and Lana Paez (Dan), and many dear cousins, nieces, nephews and innumerable friends.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 6 pm at Jernigan Warren Chapel in Fayetteville.

Heavens gain and our loss. Robert was one of the good guys. He will be missed by so many for so long. There will always be a void anytime the Pirates gather. Prayers for peace & healing for his loved ones & especially his grandchildren whose time with their grandfather was cut so short. A special prayer for a special friend that I know is hurt deeply. For all that lived Robert.. prayers for healing & peace.
