​Martha Ann Howell Blake



Martha Ann Howell Blake, of Fayetteville died peacefully at home among her loving family on Monday, November 27, 2017. She was born on January 31, 1954 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico at Ramey Air Force Base.

She grew up in a military family and lived all over the world and graduated from Agnes Scott College in 1976. In 1978 she married her high school sweetheart, Lawrence (Willie) Blake, and together they had 4 children. She was a loving wife, mother and Grandmama to the true loves of her life, her 5 granddaughters.

Martha loved gardening and designing floral arrangements. She won many blue ribbons in the Fayetteville flowers shows. She had been a member of the Colonial Garden Club, the Fayetteville Ikebana Club, Fayetteville Garden Club Council, and the Gala Club.

Martha is survived by her husband, Lawrence (Willie) Blake; her son, David Blake (Meghann) of Charlotte; her son, Alex Blake of Ridgewood, NJ; her daughter, Kelly Blake of Fayetteville; her daughter, Rebecca Kishbaugh (Chris) of Charlotte; her 5 adoring granddaughters, Annabelle Kishbaugh, Brooklynn Blake, Jordan Sites, Lillian Kishbaugh and Caroline Blake; her Mother, Tatin Howell of Fayetteville; her brother, Jim Howell (Kathy) of Atlanta; her brother, Frank Howell (Danielle) of Dunn, NC. Martha was predeceased by her Father, James Howell.

A visitation will be held at Jernigan-Warren Funeral home on Wednesday, November 29th, from 6 pm to 8 pm and a funeral service will be held at St Ann Catholic Church on Thursday, November 30th at 11 am. Burial will follow at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery.
